As we step into 2026, I am honored and excited to celebrate a truly extraordinary milestone with you — the 90th anniversary of Henry County REMC. For nine decades, our cooperative has been woven into the daily lives, homes, and hopes of the people of Henry County and surrounding communities. That is something worth celebrating all year long.

You will begin seeing our special 90th anniversary logo throughout the coming months. It marks not only how far we’ve come, but also the strong foundation this co-op was built upon: our members. From the early days of bringing electricity to rural families who had long gone without, to the modern era of reliability, technology, and innovation, this cooperative has always existed because of you and for you.

To kick off this commemorative year, we’re proud to offer a free 2026 Henry County REMC 90th Anniversary Calendar for all members. It’s filled with remarkable photographs from our rich history. These moments tell the story of how our co-op grew, adapted, and served generation after generation. The calendars are now available at our office, and I invite you to stop by and pick one up.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our wonderful sponsors who made the production of this calendar possible at no cost to our members. Their support reflects the community-minded spirit that has always defined the cooperative model.

And this is just the beginning. Throughout 2026, we have many opportunities planned to honor our past, highlight the cooperative difference, and celebrate the people like you who make our mission meaningful. I look forward to sharing these events and stories as the year unfolds.

As we reflect on our history, we also look ahead to the future leadership of our cooperative. If you have a devoted interest in Henry County REMC and the service we provide, you may want to consider running for a seat on our board of directors. On Jan. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m., we will host our annual town hall meeting for members interested in learning more about board service. Seats in Districts 3, 5, and 6 are open for nominations this year. Your district number can be found on your monthly bill under the office hours or in your SmartHub account.

Serving on the board is a meaningful way to shape the direction of our co-op as we embark on the next 90 years. I encourage anyone passionate about the cooperative mission to join us at the town hall.

Thank you for being part of this remarkable milestone. Here’s to celebrating our history, honoring our members, and building a bright future — together.

Happy New Year, and welcome to our 90th anniversary!
