It was wonderful to see such a great turnout at this year’s Annual Meeting last month. Your participation is what makes the cooperative model work, and I appreciate the opportunity to share how your REMC performed over the past year.
Financial Health and Member Equity
Following the cost-of-service study discussed last year, the board’s rate adjustments have successfully positioned us to meet our financial requirements. I am happy to report that 2025 was a much stronger year financially. Our recent annual audit returned a clean, unqualified report, showing $16.5 million in operating revenue and margins exceeding $1 million. Most importantly, the board was able to give $444,000 in patronage capital back to you, our members.
Mapping Our Future
To ensure continued reliability, we have finalized a new construction work plan. This serves as our roadmap for the next four to six years, identifying exactly where we need to replace aging infrastructure and improve the system. Additionally, a recent strategic planning session helped us identify the key opportunities and challenges ahead in this fast-changing industry.
Infrastructure Projects
Several reliability projects are already underway:
Gessie Substation: A significant line rebuild is in progress to improve service in that area.
Tab Area: To support the new dairy load, we are upgrading the feeder line and replacing the Tab substation transformer.
Operation Round Up
We are excited to officially launch Operation Round Up at your cooperative. This program rounds up your monthly bill to the nearest dollar, with 100% of those cents going to local nonprofits within our service area. It is an easy way to make a big impact together. (Note: If you prefer not to participate, simply contact our office to unenroll.)
Stay ConnecteD with SmartHub
Finally, I encourage all members to download the SmartHub app. It is the fastest way to pay your bill, monitor your daily energy use, and receive real-time updates during outages or extreme weather events.
Thank you again for your membership and your support of the REMC.
