Over the past year, our industry like many others has been dealing with the effects of high inflation. In addition to increased material and labor costs, we also face growing price pressures from government tariffs and regulatory changes. Despite these financial headwinds, we remain on track to meet our 2025 financial goals and we performed better than budget to finish out 2024.

The FCREMC staff continues to work diligently on system upgrades to enhance service quality for all our members. Providing reliable, safe, and affordable power remains our highest priority as we manage both system growth and these external economic pressures.

Throughout the year, we’ve made significant strides in improving our internal operations. We enhanced our digital system map, which helps reduce outage response and restoration times, and is now providing outage notifications to our members, sign up with SmartHub. Our accounting team has streamlined several processes to boost operational efficiency. We’ve also invested in technology upgrades and strengthened our cybersecurity infrastructure to safeguard both our data and yours. FCREMC has implemented new ways to pay your bill and now offers six ways to pay your bill without using the mail; as the US mail service continues to experience problems I encourage you to sign up for paperless billing and use a payment method that doesn’t rely on the mail service. Check out our website, fcremc.coop/payment-center, for more information.

We completed a cost of service study which helps us understand how much it will cost us to provide electric service to our members and helps us plan for the future the best we can. We just finished a new four-year construction work plan. This plan will target areas within our system that require upgrades and those experiencing increased load demand. Our new substation will be complete in Q4 of this year. These infrastructure improvements will enhance reliability and make our system more efficient.

I want to ensure you, our member owners, that all of us at FCREMC are committed to our mission of enriching the lives of our members and community by providing exceptional service and power that is safe, reliable, and affordable.
