2025 board of directors election update

One of the things that makes Boone REMC unique is that, annually, our customers — who are also member-owners of our cooperative — can vote in board of directors elections. Boone REMC is governed by a nine-member board, with each director representing a district of our service territory for three-year terms. In April 2025, directors will be elected for Districts 7, 8, and 9. Each member who participates in the election will earn a $10 bill credit.

BOARD OF DIRECTOR PETITIONS DUE JAN. 31

Members living in the 2025 election districts (7, 8, and 9 — see map below) who are interested in running for a board director position must complete a Director Candidate Questionnaire and collect signatures from 3% of the members residing in their board district by Jan. 31.

PAPER BALLOTS BY REQUEST ONLY

To control costs, we will not be mailing paper ballots to all our members. Instead, we will send online voting instructions via email in March. If you do not have an email address or if you would prefer NOT to vote online, you must request a paper ballot before April 9 by:

  • Completing the form at bremc.com/directors;
  • Calling us at 800-897-7362; OR
  • Stopping by our office Monday-Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
