Vegetation management and tree trimming does more than keep your yard looking nice. Its also a vital part of keeping power to your home or business flowing efficiently and safely.

Starting in late June, Warren County REMC’s contractors will be performing right-of-way maintenance on summer foliage that poses a risk to the functionality of your electricity.

The Daltons, Inc., will be performing upkeep as part of our right-of-way maintenance program. Its focus will be on brush and small woody plant chemical vegetation control in the areas described below and shown on the system map. This work has been certified by the Indiana State Chemist and all herbicides used will be EPA-approved. During this spray operation, The Daltons will take care to avoid sensitive areas (such as front yards, tree plantations, ornamental plantings, crops, gardens, lakes, and streams) adjacent to the right-of-way.

Contract crews will be working in the highlighted areas on the map. Crews will work north of 400 South in Warren County up to State Road 352 in Benton County and from the Illinois state line east to State Road 55 in both Warren and Benton counties

If you would prefer to maintain the right-of-way adjacent to your land in some other fashion, such as mowing, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Post a sign on each end of your property visible from the road that reads “No Spraying”. Signs are available at the Warren County REMC office and can be picked up Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  2. Appropriate signs must be posted by June 1 to avoid any unwanted areas being sprayed. It is very important that signs are posted before right-of-way maintenance begins if you have any unwanted areas sprayed. All right-of-way areas unmarked will be sprayed.
  3. Make sure all brush is removed by July 31.

Please contact our office with any questions.
