2024 Annual Meeting minutes

Registration and voting for the June 24 Annual Meeting took place between 12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Fulton County REMC office. A total of 417 members registered and voted.

Dennis Burton, president of the board of directors, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Fred McGlothin led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the invocation given by Angie Miller.

Burton thanked the members for watching the meeting on social media and introduced the special guests: Cathy Raderstorf, CEO at Carroll White REMC; Amber Knight from Indiana Electric Cooperatives; Melissa Devers and Ben Knight from Wabash Valley Power Alliance. He then introduced all the employees and the current board of directors and thanked them for their service to FCREMC.

Carissa Ziemek, marketing and communication specialist, introduced the recent scholarship winners and the outgoing and incoming student board. She then talked about Operation Round Up and gave the Community Involvement report.

Andrew Horstman, CEO, and Burton presented Neil Kauffman with a Service Award. They also congratulated Brock Schwenk and Adam Loehmer on receiving their Certified Cooperative Director Certificates.

Adam Loehmer, assistant secretary, reported that notice of the Annual Meeting was mailed to each member of record on June 1, 2024, and asked for a motion to waive the reading of the Notice of Annual Meeting and Proof of Giving Notice.

A motion to waive the reading of the Notice of Annual Meeting and Proof of Giving Notice was made, seconded, and carried.

Loehmer then reported that a copy of the minutes of the Annual Meeting held June 26, 2023, was included in this years annual report in the June issue of Indiana Connection. A motion was made, seconded, and carried to waive the reading of the June 26, 2023, Annual Meeting minutes and approve them as mailed.

Kelly Kitchen, CFO, presented the financial report, and Horstman presented the CEO report. After that, the prize drawing took place.

Andy Perkins, attorney, reported that Matt Sroufe was elected to chair the balloting committee. Sroufe reported the election winners as follows:

  • District #1 Brock Schwenk
  • District #3 Dennis Burton
  • District #5 Seth White

There was no new business. When Burton asked for questions or comments, there were none.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7 p.m.
