Randy Kleaving and his wife, Dawn, live in Anderson Township on Ashland Road in Perry County and are the parents of two sons, Blake and Adam. Kleaving has a self-employed farming operation raising grain and beef cattle. He is a volunteer fireman and serves on the board of directors for the Anderson Township Volunteer Fire Department. He is a vice president for the Perry County Commissioners.

Through his experience with Southern Indiana Power, he has been selected to represent your co-op on the Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ board of directors and is currently the vice president for the association. In 2019, Kleaving was nominated and elected to serve on the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association board of directors as the Indiana director. During his service on the board, he has also completed the NRECA director certification program to obtain the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) recognition. He and his family are members of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

KEVIN WANINGER

Kevin Waninger and his wife, Kim, have lived in Rome for over 21 years. They have three children — Klyne, Mason and Mia. Waninger has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Southern Indiana and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University. He is also a Certified Financial Planner practitioner. He is the owner of ONYX Private Wealth, a financial planning firm in Tell City.

Active in the community over the years, Waninger has participated in Leadership Perry County and Kiwanis. He is a member of both the Perry County Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Tell City Wrestling Club boards, and the finance committee at St. Paul Church. Waninger is also a coach for Perry County Youth Soccer, Tell City Girls Softball and Little League baseball.

No additional director nominations were received for Districts 5 or 6. Therefore, seating of incumbent directors may be done by acclamation at the annual meeting.

Voting and a chance to win

Each member of Southern Indiana Power was mailed a registration and ballot for the annual meeting last month. Please complete the ballot and return by mail before the annual meeting date on April 20. Members who return the ballot by mail will be registered to win one of 25 cash prizes totaling $3,000.
